22 Jefferson was a rare find. It’s not very often that you find an incredible house for college living with an even more incredible landlord! I lived here for my last two years of school at Rutgers, and my only complaint is that we didn’t find it sooner. The house was in a very nice neighborhood away from the noise of College Ave, but not so far that it was difficult to get to and from campus. If you’re from a suburban area, you’ll feel perfectly at home at in this area! Security was never an issue, in fact I had a friend who lived on Easton Ave who had a package sent to our house because they knew nothing would happen to it if it came here. Bill responded to every question and issue (which were few and far between) that we had at the house. The fact that it comes fully furnished is a huge perk of living here, and definitely makes any difference in rent compared to other spaces completely worth it. Anytime I had people come by they were always floored when they walked into the house because it doesn’t look like a college house at all. Funnily enough, the only time I ever was in a house that was comparable to 22 Jefferson, it was actually another of Bill’s properties! I am always going to look back on my time here fondly, and though I’m heartbroken that my time here is over, I know whoever lives here after me will appreciate it just as much as I did. Thank you Bill and 22 Jeff!

The cost of rent is extremely fair for everything that is included in the house, ESPECIALLY compared to many other houses in New Brunswick that are a lot more expensive. I feel Jefferson Avenue is the best neighborhood to be living in while I am at Rutgers, because I am close to Easton Ave. and other places I may want to go, but the neighborhood is not hectic, or loud like other areas around Easton Ave. I feel safer, more comfortable, and always secure. Some of my favorite aspects of the house are that we even have a little front yard, back yard, and an amazing sun room that we've stocked with countless plants. Also, the kitchen and bathroom downstairs feel new, remodeled, and have a wonderful appearance. Everybody compliments our house when they visit. Every single problem we've had was taken care of immediately. The bathtub was not draining, and within 2 days the problem was solved and has not been an issue again. Bill is within easy driving distance to the house, so he can and WILL personally come to the house to look at something if you request him to. That being said, he does not invade our privacy and lets us know if there is a reason he would like to stop by. All in all, this property has definitely been worth it, and we cannot wait to live here again next year.

We lived at 22 Jefferson Ave from August 2016 – May 2017, and we enjoyed our time living there with five other housemates.  The location was close to College Ave campus, and the Rutgers bus stop is within 10-15 minutes walking distance, which was convenient for some of us who didn't have a car. Even though it's around College Ave area, the neighborhood in Jefferson Ave itself was quiet and peaceful with mostly families living in the area.

The house had just been renovated when we moved in, and it was in a great condition, especially the kitchen (new appliances) and the first-floor bathroom (completely renovated). The house came completely furnished, including the bedrooms which  was convenient and we liked how it was furnished. All our housemates were our friends, so we enjoyed the common-spaces in the house (dining area, living room, sun-room, and basement with pool table! The security of the house was sufficient with locks on doors and windows working well. Bill also provided good lighting for the driveway and back door with motion-sensor and asked our opinions when setting it up whether it has enough lighting, good position and so on.  Whenever we had problems in the house, Bill responded very well and quickly. We had the old dryer replaced with a new one, also the microwave. Bill would come for minor fixes as well.

For us, the rent cost was reasonable considering the location, the house itself, and the experience of our stay. The only concern regarding cost during our stay was the oil for heating. Overall it was a good value. Bill was really nice, easy to communicate with, willing to improve and discuss with us about anything related to our experience living in the house. Our takeaway from living at 22 Jefferson Ave is that good relationship with the landlord is really important and can make the experience of living in a place more enjoyable and peaceful.
