The bang for my buck with this apartment was one of the main reasons I took interest in 6 Comstock apt#2. I wanted a clean, comfortable, and functional space to live in and can enjoy. I spend a lot of time socializing on College avenue like a lot of other students, but was turned off by the poor conditions of the houses and apartments there. Many of my friends were paying several hundred dollars more per month for a room that was half the size of mine, let alone having to share a bathroom with more people and the overall conditions being far from clean.

The house is located in a safe, patrolled area right off of Rutgers campus, which is a must considering the day-to-day issues in some areas of New Brunswick. Being close to campus and on a block that is a mix of students and families makes for a safe, controlled environment that RUPD is always close to. In terms of getting to class it was very simple. The Cook/Douglas school buildings are about 5 to 10 minutes of walking away from the apartment and the bus stop to get to the other 3 main campuses was a 10-minute walk down a safe, main street of campus.

The apartment always felt very safe because of both location and security measures of the apartment itself. Bill was always responsive with anything that did come up, often fixing or handling a situation within hours of contacting him. The automatically locking main door was convenient and gave peace of mind if I ever forgot whether I physically locked the door, because I knew it was locked on its own. The added security of the unit specific door was also appreciated.

The kitchen was my favorite space in the apartment. It is newly renovated with brand new appliances and a granite counter top and built-in ceiling lights with dimmers. Friends and family did not believe that "college kids" lived there when they saw the kitchen. It was very spacious and allowed for several roommates to use the space at once. The large island also made for a great socializing area. The bathrooms were all very equipped and never had any plumbing or heating issues. The whole apartment is well maintained, and the newly built upstairs is a cool loft-style floor that includes bedrooms and a big general living space that is perfect for socializing as well.

Overall, I don't think there are much better options for off-campus students. The drastically cheaper rent versus College Avenue, and the well maintained, spacious apartment makes it an easy financial decision and Bill makes living there and dealing with any concerns very easy.

I lived in 6 Comstock Apt #2 for 2 years. Over those 2 years, I always found the location to be extremely convenient (5-minute walk from the bus stop at Red Oak Lane), and safe. Compared to every other off-campus house that I saw in my 5 years at Rutgers, this had the nicest interior. Between the hardwood floors, spacious and updated kitchen and appliances, full upstairs renovation, and recent and well maintained central A/C / heating unit, there is a lot to love about this apartment. 3 Bathrooms also is a very nice thing to have in a 6-bedroom house. Overall, this is an extremely well maintained, clean, and spacious place to live. Any maintenance concern was quickly addressed by Mr. Winch, even preventative maintenance, which is extremely hard to come by in New Brunswick. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is interested.
